New Cover Art for Apes of Wrath's new EP.
I was recently asked to make the cover art for the new Apes of Wrath EP. I can't vouch for the concept though it was a great concept. I was asked to make something of a cuttlefish... yeah I never heard of it, but they gave me some samples to see what it was.
Now available on iTunes.

Great Band Websites
Wanted to make a list of bands websites that have good design and layout.
Here are some sites I've come across that are good for inspiration:
Dredg - I really liked all the raw drawings. I also really like how the drawings extend deep downward into the site without repition.
Mute Math - I liked the colors used on this site. It's pretty normal as far as navigation goes and widgets, but I thought this site had really great color and imagery.
The Dear Hunter - Great flash site with fantastic sounds and music. The artwork is most impressive about the site. It almost makes you not care about the band just to navigate the site.
Rise Against - Thought this was pretty standard too though I really liked the texture and colors used. It also displays a flash banner that has some nice artwork.
Placebo - This was awesome because it has a video displaying on the entire background. Also, great use of the .ico icon at the top. I know you can do it as a .gif but this is the first time I have seen it used as an animated .gif.
Mae - Love the color palate. I also really like the use of quote boxes. Very fun and inviting.
Incubus - Again, great colors used in this site. I'm also seeing a trend in sites that use a lot of artwork through the site. Like the Dredg site, I loved the different pieces of drawings on the site.
Guster - Fun interactivity in the header.
Dashborad Confessional - Not the greatest of all sites, but thought it was note worthy because of the navigation.
Here are some sites that I thought could use some help:
Ratatat - Nice logo header, but no navigation. Only tour dates and video on a white page. kinda boring.
From Autumn To Ashes - I was shocked when I saw this site. ooof.
We Are Synapse - Web Company that does some really inspiring work.
More coming later...

Tablet Drawing.
I got a Wacom pen tablet today.. Here is my first little experiment with it. I'm actually pretty shocked at this... It is very weird to use a tablet and not the mouse. I think I will pick it up pretty quick if I keep doing sketches in photoshop. See the other half of the image at my website. It's been updated big time.

Respect typography.
So I turned on my TV last night and I guess I had left it on PBS, but this film that was on at the time was such a great documentary on Helvetica. It really made me rethink design with certain fonts, especially helvetica. Check it out here.

Indie 103.1 doesn't sell out.
Indie Activist:
This is an important message for the Indie 103.1 Radio Audience -
Indie 103.1 will cease broadcasting over this frequency effective immediately. Because of changes in the radio industry and the way radio audiences are measured, stations in this market are being forced to play too much Britney, Puffy and alternative music that is neither new nor cutting edge. Due to these challenges, Indie 103.1 was recently faced with only one option --- to play the corporate radio game.
We have decided not to play that game any longer. Rather than changing the sound, spirit, and soul of what has made Indie 103.1 great Indie 103.1 will bid farewell to the terrestrial airwaves and take an alternative course.
This could only be done on the Internet, a place where rules do not apply and where new music thrives; be it grunge, punk, or alternative simply put, only the best music.
For those of you with a computer at home or at work, log on to www.indie1031.com and listen to the new Indie 103.1 - which is really the old Indie 103.1, not the version of Indie 103.1 we are removing from the broadcast airwaves.
We thank our listeners and advertisers for their support of the greatest radio station ever conceived, and look forward to continuing to deliver the famed Indie 103.1 music and spirit over the Internet to passionate music listeners around the world.
